2010 Festival Queen Selected - Jameica Ellaway

Congratulations go to Jameica Ellaway, 15, who has been chosen to be the Festival Queen for 2010. Jameica is no stranger to the Maypole and has worked her way through the different stages including both inner and outer string. Jameica attends Kings Norton Girls School with her friends, loves to cook when not playing her favourite game of netball. As a keen cook, Jameica hopes to attend catering college at UCB when the GCSEs are complete.

Jameica was chosen from amongst eight girls on the night and was chosen by our expert panel of judges. This year the judging panel, made up of local community members, were Wayne and Charlotte Dooley and Richard Wilford. They had a hard job judging the girls and chose Ruth Goley for second place and put Kate Hemmings in third.

BVC wish Jameica well in taking on the duties of the Festival Queen. Come along to the Maypole on 26th June and see Jameica and all the other girls dance? . Click here for Pictures.
